Valerie Vogel

Biography

Valerie has more than 20 years of experience in higher education information security and privacy, focusing on program development and management, information security awareness and education programs, and community building activities.

Prior to joining Vantage, Valerie was the Senior Manager of the Cybersecurity Program at EDUCAUSE. In that role, she spearheaded the association’s annual Security Professionals Conference, the Campus Security Awareness Campaign, and served as the managing editor of the EDUCAUSE Review Security Matters blog column. Valerie also facilitated several complex program initiatives while at EDUCAUSE, seamlessly connecting the activities of internal teams and external community groups.

From 2000-2003, Valerie provided administrative support on behalf of EDUCAUSE for the National Science Foundation (NSF) grant, Advanced Networking with Minority Serving Institutions (AN-MSI). During her time at EDUCAUSE, Valerie was also a member of the Research & Education Networks Information Sharing & Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) community.

Valerie received her B.S. in Psychology from James Madison University.
