This year, ELI hosted its Online Fall Focus Session in an Adobe Connect learning environment. Here, participants exchanged ideas and collaborated interactively with the teaching and learning community—all without leaving their institution.
 

About the Theme

Leadership for Teaching and Learning: More Choices, More Complexities, New Models

Today support for teaching and learning is no longer the province of a single campus organization. Instead, it involves a heterogeneous cohort of campus partners, which can include academic technology, centers for teaching and learning, libraries, and the dean's and provost's offices, as well as professional and continuing education. Through presentations followed by carefully designed small-group activities, we delved more deeply into topics such as:

• Organizational and governance models that support cohort-based leadership and institutional community building
• Approaches to support teams in developing and sustaining innovative practices
• The role of consortia and cross-institutional collaborations to support local initiatives
• How institutional and cross-institutional data can support teaching and learning initiatives and promote student success
   

Focus Session Format

During this interactive event, participants engaged with colleagues and presenters using chat and live polls, all of which supported active interaction around the focus session content.
