Abstract
Join me for an inside look at UTDirect, the personalized, customized portal in use at The University of Texas at Austin. UTDirect offers more than 400 campus services to approximately 52,000 students and 20,000 faculty and staff at UT-Austin. More than 40,000 different people sign on to UTDirect 100,000 times each day, and make 2,000,000 requests to more than 400 services, which result in 450,000,000 calls to the back-end database supporting the servers and services.
