Abstract
In the last year, several related and synergistic broadband initiatives have gained some traction and attention. These efforts, though they may have common audiences and players, each have slightly different goals and approaches. To help the higher education IT community better understand each of these initiatives, the EDUCAUSE Policy Analysis & Advocacy Program developed a document that provides a high-level overview of various network initiatives (GENI, Gig.U, U.S. UCAN, and U.S. Ignite), what they are trying to achieve, and how they relate to each other.
