What are the best methods to assess the value of a portal to its users? The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) has used a variety of tools to research demand and satisfaction for the "My UW-Madison" portal since the spring of 2001. Both the methods used and the lessons learned can help guide your portal-building efforts.
