Abstract
This paper focuses on data warehouses as an appropriate technology to provide enhanced information system resources to the user community and why it is particularly appropriate in an IT environment with scarce development resources. Includes a review of current technology trends and an explanation of why The Catholic University of America (CUA) chose the data warehouse as a project for its environment. The discussion includes a detailed explanation of the difficulties encountered and the solutions found during the implementation of the data warehouse, along with an evaluation of its impact and effectiveness from both the user and the computer center perspective.
