Abstract

This document is meant to help moderately technical users who are security- and privacy-focused make progress toward achieving online security and privacy goals when using an Apple Mac with the Mozilla Firefox browser. The introduction discusses why web security is important and how your choices about security may impact your privacy. This document covers the following topics: threat models, operating system recommendations, hardening Mac OS X, securing account-related items,  securing login-window-related items, configuring network connectivity and other system preferences, and securing the web browser.
