Empowering Students in the Age of Big Data

"Empowering Students in the Age of Big Data" occurred October 10–11, 2012, in Baltimore. Leaders in higher education explored the promise and peril of "big data" in learning, student support, and college completion.

The summit was designed to catalyze dialogue about the challenges analytics creates when used for student decision making, whether that involves providing information, making recommendations, or predicting student success. Each participant brought unique expertise on the role analytics can play in our colleges and universities. The summit was an invitation-only event.

This event is made possible through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
